The flue gas generated during any process which produces carbon particles, need to be cleaned before letting into the atmosphere. In dry scrubbing the flue gas is cleaned by diluting the flue gas by applying external air and cooled using gas coolers and heat exchangers. The heavy particles are removed using cyclonic dust separators and then fine particles removed using bag filtration system.
In this scrubbing system, the flue gas is subjected to cleaning and cooling using water or some other coolant as medium. In order to achieve this alkaline liquid medium is used in Venturi Scrubber where the flue gas is subjected to turbulent effect caused by sudden pressure drop. It also cleans the carbon content to a great extent. The cleaned flue gas is then let to further stages of cleaning if required or the liquid particles removed using moisture separator and let to the atmosphere through stack.
In this process the flue gas is subjected to high voltage electrical current, which ionizes the stream and charges the particles within it. The charged particles are collected in opposite charged collecting surfaces. The dust, soot etc are collected by these surfaces, thereby cleaning the flue gas. The particles collected in these collecting surfaces are periodically removed by shaking or hammering the surface, which results in these particles to be collected for further disposal.
Filtering of fine particles from flue gas plays an important role in Air Pollution Control. In dry scrubbing systems, this crucial function is being carried out by Bag Filters. There are lot of bag filter types based on the type of bags used for filtration. Our filters are made up of high quality filters fitted in cages. Solenoid valve based air purging is done frequently to release the dust particles settled on top of the bags. Our filters ensure trouble free operation of the Air Pollution Control System, thereby protecting the environment from pollution.
In the case of wet scrubbers, the fine particles that escape from Venturi Scrubber has to be trapped before it enters into the atmosphere. So, as second stage of pollution control in wet scrubbing systems we use Packed Scrubber with 2 or more layers of packing materials under continuous high pressure showers, through which the flue gas has to pass in zig zag manner. This traps the fine particles from the flue gas and only clean air goes to the next stage.
